Unravelling opportunities in Southeast Asia’s maximum market

The primary goal of this conference is to bring together the best PE and VC — both LP and GP — names under one roof for the best networking prospects, while providing thought-provoking and engaging panel discussions, fireside chats and keynotes.

In 2018, we had more than 6oo attendees from 30+ countries. Among these were 200+ LPs and GPs – arguably the biggest names in the region.

Editorially-led Panels

Our summit is an extension of our (DealstreetAsia’s) editorial. Even as our focus and priority remains editorial, we are aiming to build the region’s largest creative business gathering in the PE and VC sectors – the people creating and defining the future of investing into emerging companies in this region.

Fresh Approach

We are always one-step ahead. From organising an LPs only dinner at the award-winning OSO Ristorante for your networking pleasure to having China’s biggest VCs headlining our founders’ luncheon – we are constantly striving to make your summit experience a wholesome one.

2018 invitees were also given a copy of our research report “An Overview of the ASEAN VC Landscape”, which is curated and brought together with our audience range in mind.

LPs Complimentary Tickets

We offer a limited number of complimentary passes to LPs, subject to validation. If you would like to register your interest and join us at Indonesia PE-VC Summit, please enter your details here.

Indonesia PE-VC Summit 2019 | Unravelling opportunities in South-East Asia’s maximum market

Made up of over 13,000 islands, Indonesia is the world’s largest island country with a population of over 260 million. Being SE Asia’s most populous with a growing middle class demographics, the macro-economic indicators favour growth in consumer oriented industries, particularly in the technology-enabled sectors of e-commerce, fintech, app-enabled travel and so on. Predictably, these are the sectors that have caught the fancy of investors who have injected nearly $3 billion in growing private enterprises of Indonesia in 2017. In a day-long conference, DEALSTREETASIA will help navigate the complex market and the hidden opportunities.

Panel 1: Indonesia: A ringside view from the LP quarter

How do LPs view the Indonesia story: Macro trends, demographics, regulatory environment, consumption patterns, access to financial services, foreign investment inflows.

Panel 2: Consumer theme is where the money is flowing

Once known as a destination for natural resources and commodities, Indonesia is now seeing consumer-oriented sectors such as e-commerce, transport tech apps and fintech riding the investment wave.

Panel 3: The rise of Fintech: The biggest disruptive trend in Indonesia

With 80 per cent of the population unbanked or under-served by traditional banking sector, the stage is set for explosive fintech growth. From P2P lending, merchant payments, e-commerce installment lending, financial comparison to money transfer, fintech is on a fast clip.

Panel 4: Homegrown CVCs test the waters. Will they jump into deep end?

Corporate venture capital is at the forefront of homegrown VC activity in Indonesia accounting for participation in some big-ticket funding rounds.

Panel 5: Seed stage fund deluge and deficit from Series B onwards: The classic trap for startups

Indonesia is predictably witnessing lots of action in the very early stage of funding with lot of vehicles chasing deals. But, what would it take to enable startups to reach scale and see through the growth pangs?

Panel 6: The GP perspective: Dealing with overcrowded market, fewer deals and low visibility on exits

How do GPs view the Indonesia opportunity: Global vs regional VCs, co-investments, deal sourcing challenges, valuations, returns, investment tenure, exit routes. This panel will explore all these themes and how GPs navigate this maximum market.

Apart from panel discussions, we also plan to have some keynote sessions and fireside chats with prominent members connected to the investment ecosystem of Indonesia.
